HOLIDAY GREETINGS
So, it’s that time of year again to meet with old friends via the written word.
Where to start –
Well, probably to say that at this particular writing all members of this family are well, the young ones working hard, Len and I doing our usual retiring things and all of us preparing for the coming Holidays.
Of course, the highlight of 1996 for, was our 50th wedding anniversary celebration last June. Some of you were here to celebrate with us and we truly appreciated that. Also we enjoyed all the cards and notes we received from those of you who couldn’t attend. The children and grandchildren did such a good job. The video they presented to us is a treasure. What a delightful time it was. We couldn’t have asked for a better celebration and we thank each and everyone of you for your part in it.
To go on, July added the pleasure of our grandson Jared’s return from Germany. It was so good to have him home and listen to his experiences first hand. Also during that month I attended my seventh Elderhostel. I spent a week in St. Louis. It was very hot and humid, but still enjoyable. We went on tour after tour and I even went up in their famous Arch – such excitement. Now, I am looking forward to picking my eighth journey, if all goes well.
Len had his usual summer fishing season. The summer is his best time. He has such a great fishing partner, and they are out at least once and sometimes twice a week, weather permitting. They do have a good time together. He still hunts but only with Terry and Rob now. No elk this year, but they did get a white tail deer. The meat is delicious.
All grandchildren are back in school, except Tara. After her graduation from UND, she decided to work awhile with the hope of going on to graduate school in the future. She has a good job here and we get to see her often. Robert is back at MSU in Bozeman, Jared is at Brigham Young, Noel and Christy are at Ricks in Idaho and Ben is a Sophomore at CMR. Can’t believe he has only two more years of high school.
We had a very nice Thanksgiving. Everyone was here except Jared. He was in a play at school, so couldn’t make. We had on guest – Tara’s friend Tim joined us. She spent last Thanksgiving with him and his family in Chicago, so it was our pleasure to have him with us this year.
Well, I guess that about catches up up for the year. We hope this finds you and yours well and happy and that 1997 will be a good year for all.
As Ever,
.
